Lydig’s scope of work as a Design Builder included managing the design team (made up of five firms), assessing the existing facilities, interpreting the end users standard modules, applying the standards to physical plant changes, applying real time budget revisions and pay back analysis. Throughout the process of standard exploration and design, CCA asked Lydig to organize and manage six different planned projects on the same site ranging from $120M dollar expansions to $5M locking control revisions. Our Team’s ability to partner with the CCA to understand their client’s needs, anticipate the necessary components of jail operation and how it relates to design, lead a team that could adjust to each other on the fly was critical to allowing the client to secure lease which was the first of its kind in the state.
After the initial lease was signed, Lydig entered into an agreement the following day for $16.7M dollars to complete the necessary renovations within forty one calendar days. Knowing that each day past December 1, represented a potential $78,000 loss in revenue per day, Lydig, the design team, and subcontractors worked tirelessly alongside with CCA to ensure the project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule to guarantee maximum revenue potential was achieved.
