The historic wood-framed building is comprised of unreinforced masonry and is listed as a City of Redmond landmark. Lydig was selected to complete the historic renovation of the building to become a new preschool for children ages 3-5. The two-story, 40,000 SF facility now includes 10 preschool classrooms, a new cafeteria/commons area, and a refinished gymnasium. The schoolhouse sits on the Redmond Elementary school campus and construction was completed while the adjacent elementary school maintained normal operations. Scope of work included select demolition, hazardous material abatement, exterior envelope upgrade, MEP upgrades, and interior improvements.
