Lab areas host sample prep, carbon labs, laser research and optics research labs, and a planetarium. Shared student collaborative spaces allow faculty and students from different science disciplines to collaborate and share knowledge. The design features the building as a “living learning tool” for students and includes interactive opportunities with technology as well as showcasing unique characteristics of their programs. The building also features many sustainable design elements and is designed to be LEED Gold.
