This station provides storage for additional fleet vehicles, as well as the SCBA maintenance room. The facility includes areas for maintenance, fueling, living quarters, fitness, and kitchen. It includes specific “hot” and “cool” zones, air filtration and other strategies to support firefighter health. The design includes mindful planning of future facilities at this site, including, but not limited to, a future training tower and a large storage barn to house large equipment needed during emergencies. The new station, located south of the original seismically-deficient and aging fire station, provides a better level of fire response throughout the city.
